AUDI TT RS

The TT RS has a new short-shift close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, and like all "RS" models, is only available with Audi's 'trademark' quattro four-wheel drive system, with the TT RS using a specially adapted version of the latest generation multi-plate clutch from Haldex Traction. Additions to the quattro system include a constant velocity joint before the cardan propeller shaft, and a compact rear-axle differential – uprated to cope with the increased torque from the five cylinder turbo engine.

As of 2010 the TT-RS is available with the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission capable of handling the torque delivered by the engine. The 6-speed gearbox used in the TT-S cannot cope with 450 newton metres (332 ft·lbf) which is why the TT-RS initially was offered only with a manual transmission.

The A7 sits tightly between the A6 and A8 sedans and shares engines and transmissions. It has the same platform as the Audi A8, but gets the CLS tear-drop styling treatment and a cheaper price.

Audi Australia isn't talking about the A7 but expect a top-line 4.2-litre V8 quattro to cost about $195,000. That's a $10,000 discount on the A8 with the same mechanical specifications.

Audi Australia spokesperson Nadine Giusti says 'we cannot yet give you timing for local market launch. It will arrive here in 2011 but we cannot be more specific than that - it is too early for us to confirm'. However, she says hopes are high for sales success.
"We believe the car will do extremely well here," she says.

The A7 is to get Audi's ubiquitous 3-litre V6 turbo-diesel, which is likely to be the entry-level version, and get a price tag of about $140,000. Audi is aiming to lure CLS fans and pick up those enamoured by BMW's 5-Series GT.

Getting buyers into the four-ring brand starts with the A7's style, then extends to features including the panoramic glass roof, high-end leather and wood, large pop-up monitor, electric rear hatch, acoustic windscreen and optional heads-up display. The four-seater has a huge rear hatch over a luggage area of 535 litres, expanding to 1390 litres with the split rear seats folded flat.

The Audi A7 comes out of the Audi Sportback Concept that went on show at the Detroit motor show three years ago. It gets carry over items such as 20-inch wheels, LED tail lights and front eyebrows, and the long tapered rear deck.

Future models based on the A7 Sportback are a cabrio - which will be Audi's biggest ragtop and take on the Mercedes E-Class and even SL models, and a coupe to rival the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 6-Series.

AUDI R8

Audi could launch in the coming months an RS version of the R8 model. The information was presented by AutoExpress, an online magazine specialized in news about the auto technology. The extreme alternative will have a modified and it will benefit of a range of solutions to reduce the total mass.
Although Audi released a version of V10, for those who wanted a pure supercar branded by Audi, the manufacturer in Ingolstadt plans to build further the success of the current . The sports model could enjoy in future of an extreme version, able to carry the name of thep erformance division, which is SR.

To play at this level, the supercar will need a modified version of the V10 engine, capable of delivering at least 600 horsepower. The increasing of the baggage resources will be complemented by an intensive program to reduce the total mass.

Spy images, recently captured in a gas station near the Nurburgring circuit, show a prototype that strongly confirms the new version of R8. The model has some aerodynamic improvements (an extension made of carbon fiber located in front, new sides, a redesigned rear aileron and a new deflector), an exhaust system incorporated into the rear spoiler and another engine housing.

To cope with the new power input, RS R8 will have a set of more rigid suspension and a disc brake system with bigger discs. Although no official information has released in this respect, we can expect that the new version will give up the quattro wheel drive for a rear propulsion for some more thrills, but also for 100 kilograms in minus.

The interior will also be simplified because of the total mass reduction and the customers will enjoy and minimum comfort facilities.

AUDI-A9-FUTURE-CONCEPTS

As far as we know Audi has no plans to come out with an A9 (as of yet). Yet at least one student has some ideas for the German car maker.

Pictured above is a concept car that uses "nanotechnology" to repair itself. A hybrid, this vehicle features an internal combustion engine, backed up by four electric motors—one in each wheel! Said nanotech supposedly allows the future owner to change the car's color on-the-go, and control the opacity of the passenger cabin bubble. In other words, this concept A9 is perfect for make out sessions (if you're worried from being in seen from the front or back, at least)!

The brainchild of Spanish designer Daniel Garcia, this concept A9 apparently takes some design cues from the tourist-friendly City of Arts and Sciences. How this is so should be the subject of the comments below. Whatever the case, Garcia has a good eye for aesthetics. We no longer have to worry about this atrocious fake A9.

AUDI-CONCEPT-INTELLIGENCE

For quite some time now, both carmaker and driver have always been held captive by the question of the future of the auto industry. Now, Audi has come up with what it understand that future may be as seen from the eyes of students at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and what they call their „Intelligent Emotion´s project concepts. The aim of the project was to foresee the means by which alternative fuel and forms might be utilized in the future, and simultaneously considering the far-reaching needs of individual mobility. The carmaker is not just into this for totally philosophical motivation though. Audi believes that the next generation of workers is our future, thus, they are making it one of their highest priorities to sponsor design students. The resulting projects demonstrated highly thought-out and clearly presented approaches where each concept, each model, has at least one idea or element that can be conceptualized and utilized in future production cars. The Intelligent Emotion 's nickname implies that it's not all engineering and science but engineering strengthened with enthusiasm. As a motivating influence, emotion must go together with accountability as limiter. The assignment given to the students consisted of developing artistic approaches that mirror the current ecological, technical and social problems but simultaneously creating an attractive, sporty Audi vehicle. The outcome offered some highly imaginative features and an abundance of core elements that will be the subject of discussion for many years to come. A book came out from this venture which includes the concepts and commentaries of the carmaker‚ chief designers. The book retails for 29.90 Euros and comes with the title Audi Design Projekt.

AUDI R8-V12

The R8 V12 TDI concept with matt "Grace Silver" bodywork looks even wider and more resolute than the core model. It shows its potential through its muscular proportions, accentuated wheel arches and even larger air apertures.

Focused on aerodynamics

The aerodynamics experts at Audi have done their work so thoroughly on the study car that, as an added benefit of its elegant shape, the body actually generates downforce – unlike many other sports cars. This aids directional stability at high speeds. It is achieved partly by means of an extending rear spoiler that is much larger than on the production version, and also thanks to the fully clad diffuser underbody. Two large-format diffuser apertures in the rear bumper demonstrate just how much aerodynamics dictate the shape of the study vehicle.

Large glass roof

One new aspect is the glass roof of the passenger compartment with two large transparent sections. These, together with the glazed engine compartment behind, create a radically new formal element. The unmistakable NACA duct in the middle of the roof is a functional detail that is normally reserved for racing cars. Its ingenious shape accelerates the air drawn in here for the two cylinder banks of the V12 TDI engine.

A "showroom" for the engine

The V12 TDI is displayed as the beating heart of this sports car, like a work of art inside a large showcase. Its look, underscored by the air deflectors located beneath the restyled rear glass lid, differs clearly from its production counterpart. The engine can even be seen after dark, when white light-emitting diodes illuminate the engine compartment – as on the production R8 version.

Innovative LED technology

The LED taillights of the Audi R8 V12 TDI concept have a three-dimensional look that can’t be missed. But the absolute highlight is the all-LED headlights of the study vehicle. With their lenses and reflectors, not only do these innovative light sources have a ground-breaking appearance, they also have an enormous functional advantage: LED light, with its color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin, resembles daylight much more closely than xenon or even halogen light.

AUDI-RSQ

The Audi RSQ is a mid-engined concept car developed by Audi AG for use as a product placement in the 2004 sci-fi film I, Robot. It is meant to depict a technologically advanced automobile in the Chicago cityscape from the year 2035.

This sports coupé is a visionary interpretation of Audi's typical automobile design. An important challenge presented to the designers was that despite its extreme character, the car still had to be recognised by the audience as an Audi. To accommodate this demand, the engineers implemented a current Audi front-end design which includes the trapezoidal "Audi Single-Frame Grille", the company's trademark overlapping four rings, and the Multi Media Interface  driver-to-car control system.

The RSQ also includes special features suggested by film director Alex Proyas. The car uses spheres instead of conventional wheels. Its two reverse butterfly doors are hinged to the B-posts of the body.

Although this kind of collaboration was a first for Audi, a similar project was developed by Lexus for use in the 2002 film Minority Report.

AUDI TT MTM

The heart of the MTM-TT is the 2.0 TFSI with 200 bhp. After being souped up by MTM, the direct-injection turbo petrol engine outputs at least 245 bhp (355 Nm at 1,850 rpm). In addition to this, MTM offers 250 (363 Nm/1,850 rpm), 272 (370 Nm/1,850 rpm), and a breathtaking 313 bhp (395 Nm/ 3,230 rpm) versions, which impress drivers with superior performance. MTM customers benefit here from the vast experience MTM has built up, for example, with the TT bimoto®. Only recently, on September 12, 2006, the TT bimoto® powered by two turbo-charged 1.8 liter four cylinder engines generating over 860 bhp reached 385 km/h on the Papenburg test track, setting a new track record in doing so. On the same track, which only has one 4 km long straight, MTM is hoping to break the 400 km/h barrier in the near future!

Power boosts for the TT with 3.2 V6 engine will shortly be available. In an initial stage, MTM increases the engine output to 280 bhp by means of modified camshafts and changes to the air filter and muffler system. 340 bhp are available in the second stage, which the V6 engine generates with the aid of an MTM supercharger. This puts the MTM TT hot on the heels of the 911!

To create a sound befitting of the additional power, MTM offers - both for the 2.0 TFSI and for the 3.2 V6 – a stainless steel exhaust system with a 70 mm pipe guide. This can be combined either with a 4-pipe rear muffler (4x89mm) or a 2-pipe rear silencer (2x89mm) from MTM. Both rear mufflers can be used with the standard rear apron. For the 2.0 TFSI, which normally only has recesses on the left for the tailpipes, tuning specialist MTM offers a rear apron lower section featuring an additional recess on the right. The lower section is also used for the 3.2 V6. MTM also offers the 4-pipe rear muffler with exhaust gas flap control, which helps to generate an even sportier sound.

AUDI Q7

Audi is not new to Quattro four-wheel drive, their trademark. Quattro is a permanent all-wheel drive (AWD) system used on Audi brand of automobiles. It was first introduced in 1980 on the Audi Quattro and has since been set up on most of the models that Audi sells. The name is a registered trademark of Audi AG. The Audi Q7 is a full-size luxury SUV produced by the German car manufacturer Audi with the help of Laboyrie, Gregg and McHewgor, the men behind the machine. The Q symbolizes a new class of vehicles for Audi and the Q7 is positioned between Audi A6 and Audi A8.

The model was introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in January 2006. From then on, there was no looking back for Audi Q7. The Q7 uses a customized version of the Volkswagen 7L platform and is designed more for on-road use. The Q7 seats up to seven passengers in three rows. The second row can be adjusted forward for more cargo space or back for added legroom, the second and third rows also have split seatbacks that fold flat to increase cargo room.

Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system is standard. Traction and stability is improved due to the use of a centre differential that distributes power from front to rear wheels and side to side. This helps chiefly on smooth roads and during vigorous driving.
